Drew ~ Two Months!

Drew is officially two months old! Thanks to our friends Kristin, Ben, Prior, Mason, and Gus, we have these super cool stickers to help commemorate monthly milestones! I took a little video to post... His solo video appearances will get a bit more exciting as the months go on, but we have to video document every stage!!
He still continues to be congested (as you can hear in the video!) but hasn't needed to go back to the doctor. We have managed ALMOST two solid weeks (knock on wood!) without a visit to Gundersen!!! THAT is exciting, given how January and February have gone for us!

Baby Drew

I spent some time taking pictures of Drew yesterday... He gave me his first smile on Valentine's Day, but much like his big sisters, it is hard to catch them with the camera!

Giggles

It is very difficult to get a video of Madelyn, because she really likes to look at the view screen of what is being recorded, instead of getting recorded herself! But, Daddy got some great giggles on video because he was tickling her so she couldn't get to the camera!

The Theede Backyard Winter Olympics

Today we felt motivated to play in the snow after watching the Winter Olympics the last couple days. We have a nice little slope in our backyard that we hoped would be good for sledding. Avery got a cool saucer sled for Xmas from Auntie Kiley and Behrang, and we wanted to try it out. (Side note to Grandpa Denny & co.- no parked cars were near the sledding area!!) While it wasn't exactly the same speed as the Luge track, it actually worked!

We have several inches of fluffy snow on top of the layer of ice from the Xmas winter storm, which made getting to the top of the hill an Olympic event in itself! We called it Ice Climbing. Mommy was awarded the bronze medal for successfully lugging two little girls and a saucer sled up the hill several times.

Madelyn wasn't so sure she liked the snow until she got a turn on the sled by herself. THEN things got fun. She even invented her own event... "Snow Crawling." She looked a like a pink astronaut trying to walk in the snow, and that just wasn't fast enough for her, so she took to crawling. She got a face full of snow, but she got to where she was going.

Avery won the gold medal in the Snow Angel event. Madelyn was disqualified, as she refused to lay down.

And the best part was coming inside (15 minutes later) for hot chocolate and marshmallows.... LOTS of marshmallows!

P.S. Other event results- Paul claims the gold medal in the "Bundle Up"; Beth grabbed a silver for "Un-Bundling." Medals still up for grabs in the "Put-All-Snow-Gear-Away-Neatly" event...

Happy Birthday Daddy & Happy Valentine's Day!

Grandma Earlyce sent a yummy package full of her famous sugar cookies today... They were expertly packed, so not a single one was broken! They tasted fabulous as usual. Especially the heart shaped ones with pink frosting and red sprinkles! Here are a couple of pictures of the girls enjoying these special treats.

AND yesterday was Daddy's 30th Birthday! Happy Birthday to Daddy! Avery made confetti to 'surprise' Daddy when he got home and helped to make the frosting for his cake.

I think Paul would agree that one of the best bday presents this year was an "on-the-mend" baby boy. On Wednesday afternoon, Drew had his first (and hopefully ONLY) ambulance ride! Fortunately it was without lights and sirens, and was only from the Onalaska Clinic down to the hospital. His 'cold' had taken a turn for the worst, and he needed oxygen. At the hospital, he did test positive for RSV, a virus that is super nasty for little guys, and there is nothing they can do for babies other than monitor them and give them oxygen. We got release on Thursday, and he's been improving ever since. Although he does have an ear infection now, his breathing continues to get better. Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers for this little guy to get better!

Speaking of Drew... He needs some pictures on here too. Here is a good one of him dressed in his camo sweatshirt!

Tea Party!

Check out the video of the Tea Party that Avery, Madelyn, Daddy, and Drew enjoyed two weeks ago. This was an awesome game for the girls! They played for almost 45 minutes without fighting!! Daddy and Drew were good sports and played nicely too... :)

Giving this a try...

Here is our first attempt at posting on our new blog!
Avery, Madelyn, and Drew are growing so ridiculously fast! It is so hard to remember all of their funny day-to-day stories, so we are hoping that this blog will become kind of an electronic journal to help us remember everything, and to share all of the note-worthy stories with family and friends! We have lots of pictures and videos to share... Now let's see if I can manage to get them on here!
:)
